Miners in exile

Shortly after the war started in Ukraine in Summer 2014, the football club Shakhtar Donetsk left its native city for Kiev. Hundreds of thousands of citizens from this region shared the same fate. They fled to safer territories all over Ukraine. Shaktar had always been important for people in Donbass and their identity as miners and workers. They had suffered together. Shakhtar gave them hope and made them proud. Now in exile, where life became focused on its basics, this spirit is lost. What remains is just an another example of modern football entertainment industry.
